Dr. Caree Jackson Cotwright, Ph.D., MS is an assistant professor in the UGA Department of Foods and Nutrition. The Conference Assistance Award was used to present at the African American Collaborative Obesity Research Network (AACORN) Conference 2017 where Dr. Cotwright shared her research strategies on nutrition, wellness education, and physical activity in ECE settings amongst children (0-5) in low-income and minority populations.
Dr. Amber Kinsey, BS, Ph.D.
Dr. Amber Kinsey, BS, Ph.D. received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Skidmore College and earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University. The Conference Assistance Award was used to present at the African American Collaborative Obesity Research Network (AACORN) Conference 2017 where Dr. Kinsey presented strategies on health behavior sustainability with a focus on physical activity engagement in underserved minority families.
Dr. Patti O'Brien-Richardson, PhD, MS. Ed
Dr. Patti O’Brien-Richardson, PhD, MS. Ed received her Doctorate of Urban Health from Rutgers University. The Conference Assistance Award was used to present at the Black Doctoral Conference 2017 where Dr. O’Brien-Richardson presented her research on cultural hair practices and physical activity among urban African-American girls.
Dr. Jennifer D. Roberts, DrPH, MPH
Dr. Jennifer D. Roberts DrPH, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at the University of Maryland College Park, School of Public Health and she received her Doctor of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Conference Assistance Award was used to present at the Active Living Research Conference 2017 where she presented her research on the relationship between the built environment and physical activity in addition to its impact on obesity and other public health outcomes. More specifically, much of her research has explored the dynamic relationship between environmental, social and cultural determinants of physical activity and using empirical evidence of this relationship to infer complex health outcome patterns among adults and children.
